Roanoke Express News Release


ROANOKE, VA – This is the first of a new weekly report the Roanoke Express will be issuing to the media regarding the different places in the community that they will be visiting. The Roanoke Express is always willing to give back to the Roanoke community, and as a way for the media to see where Express players and staff members will be during the week, all information will be provided to you via our community release.

Already during the 2003-2004 season, Express players have visited Troutville Elementary School, Clearbrook Elementary School, Stuartsville Elementary School, Burlington Elementary School and Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. In addition, Express players have helped physically challenged children play ice hockey at the Ice Station, and appeared at the grand opening of Dick's Sporting Goods.

UPCOMING APPEARANCES

Monday, December 1, 2003 – Express players Kevin Bergin and Steve Burgess will be adopting a youth hockey team at the Ice Station. Bergin and Burgess will join the youth hockey team at practice, to help teach the players hockey skills. The players will be at the Ice Station beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, December 2, 2003 – Express players Joe Dusbabek and Tim O'Connell and will be at Oak Grove Elementary School for the school's Career Day. The appearance will be from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m.

Tuesday, December 2, 2003 – Express defenseman Kevin Bergin will be at Glenvar High School from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. to speak to the French Club.
