Bombers Looking for Some Home Cooking

Dayton Bombers News Release


The Bombers will kick off a 6 game home stand this weekend with 3 straight beginning Friday, December 5th versus the Greensboro Generals (7:00pm), Saturday, December 6th versus the Trenton Titans (7:00pm), and Sunday, December 7th versus the Toledo Storm (4:00pm). All games are at the Nutter Center. Below is a recap of last week's games:

11/27/03 – BOMBERS 0 @ Peoria 3

The Peoria Rivermen blanked the Dayton Bombers, 3-0. Mike Valley turned away all 24 shots he faced over the final two periods to preserve the win and post his second shutout of the season. Edinger gave Peoria a 2-0 lead with 8:13 remaining in the second period and added another tally over five minutes later. Brendan Brooks scored on the power play and handed out a pair of assists for the Rivermen, who have won five of their last six games. Bujar Amidovski gave up three goals on 30 shots for Dayton.

11/28/03 – BOMBERS 4 @ Toledo 3

Jason Crain scored late in the third period to give the Dayton Bombers a 4-3 victory over the Toledo Storm. After Dayton forward Jamie O'Leary scored his second goal with just 3:07 left to tie the game at 3-3, Crain, who assisted on the tying goal, scored at the 19:25 mark to give the Bombers their first lead since midway through the second. Olivier Proulx added three assists for Dayton, which halted a four-game skid and won for the first time in eight games. Andrew Penner stopped 32 shots to earn the win.

11/29/03 – BOMBERS 3 @ Cincinnati 2

Jamie O'Leary scored the eventual game-winning goal to help the Dayton Bombers edge the Cincinnati Cyclones, 3-2. O'Leary, who has four goals in four games since being acquired by Dayton, potted the eventual game-winner 6:10 into the final stanza, supplying the Bombers with a 3-1 lead. Alex Johnstone netted his first goal of the year midway through the second period to open the scoring and Richard Naumann snapped a 1-1 tie with 80 seconds left in the period, for Dayton. Andrew Penner had 31 saves, including 27 over the final two periods for the win.

BOMBERS BITES: Since being traded to the Bombers from the Florida Everblades, Jamie O'Leary has recorded 4 goals in 4 games.
