Teddy Bear Toss Brings in 6,179 Animals; Backpack Giveaway this Friday

Upcoming week of December 1st - December 7th

· Monday, December 1st - Condors Director of Community Relations John Ayre and Condors winger Devin Francon will be at South High School promoting the December 9th Student ID Night from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Students receive admission for $1.00 by presenting their valid student ID. WB 12, KISS 96.5 & Golden Empire Transit sponsor student ID Night.

· Monday, December 1st - Condors Account Executive Shannon Armstrong and Condors winger Todd Alexander will be at Centennial High School promoting the December 9th Student ID Night from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Students receive admission for $1.00 by presenting their valid student ID. WB 12, KISS 96.5 & Golden Empire Transit sponsor student ID Night.

· Friday, December 5th - Join the Condors as they host the Fresno Falcons for KGET-TV 17 & Wm. K. Lyons Insurance Backpack Giveaway Night. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a 2003 - 2004 Condors Backpack. The night is also KUZZ 107.9 Toys for Tots Night. Fans can receive $1.00 terrace admission with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. Also, students that sold ten or more Entertainment Books during the One for the Community program will be recognized for their outstanding efforts in raising money through the school fundraiser as a part of One for the Community Night, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and the Bakersfield Condors.

Saturday, December 6th - Condors Captain Paul Rosebush will be joined by teammates Vince Malts, Todd Alexander, Devin Francon, Jason Ralph and others at the Jamison Center for their Clean-Up day. The Jamison Center is in the process of building soccer and softball fields with donated land attached to the facility. The day starts at 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm. The Jamison Center is located at 1010 Shalimar Drive.

Saturday, December 6th - Colonel Claw'd will be assisting in the Awards Ceremony at the 3rd Annual Bakersfield City School District Educational Foundation Winter Chess Classic. The chess tournament is scheduled to begin at 10:00am with the awards ceremony starting at 4:00pm. The Classic will be held at Cesar E. Chavez Science Magnet School located at 4201 Mesa Marin Drive.

Tickets to all Condors home games can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office, open from 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 4:00pm on Saturdays, with extended hours on event days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.

Condors Droppings · Saturday, November 29th marked the 5th Annual Condors Teddy Bear Toss. Fans were encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal to throw onto the ice when the Condors scored their first goal of the night. For the second straight season Condors Captain Paul Rosebush scored the goal. A total of 6,179 stuffed animals were collected and will be donated to underprivileged children this holiday season through the United Way of Kern County.

· No young Condors fan should miss out on the Condors Kids Club! The Condors Kids Club membership includes admission to five weekend Condors Games, a Kids Club T-shirt, a $5.00 savings account at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, a membership ID card, and exclusive parties with players and mascots, all for just $20.00! The Kids Club is sponsored by Bright House Networks, The Bakersfield Californian, Cold Stone Creamery & Kern Schools Federal Credit Union. For more information call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825).

· Talk about a Stocking Stuffer! Just in time for the holidays, the Condors Closet is selling Condors Christmas stockings. Each stocking comes with both a Jason Ralph and Paul Willett bobblehead, two (2) drink coozies, a 2003-2004 Condors Program, thunderstix, a puck, and your choice of six (6) Upper or six (6) Lower level seats - all stuffed inside an official Condors hockey sock. The stockings are $60 for the Upper and $100 for the Lower and can be purchased at the Condors Closet located across from Centennial Garden at 1022 Truxtun Avenue. The Condors Closet is open weekdays 11:00am - 6:00pm and Saturdays 11:00am - 5:00pm, or stop by a merchandise stand during a Condors home game. Call 324-NETT (3288) for more information.
