Mavericks Goaltender Parker Milner Recalled to Bridgeport Sound Tigers
December 27, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kansas City Mavericks News Release
INDEPENDENCE, MO - Missouri Mavericks goaltender, Parker Milner, has been recalled to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers-- the Mavs American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, in the wake of the New York Islanders (NHL) recalling net-minder Chris Gibson from the Sound Tigers.
In a waterfall of transactions announced early Sunday morning, the Islanders placed Jaro Halak on injured reserve (retroactive to Dec. 21) and recalled Chris Gibson from the Sound Tigers.
Bridgeport followed suit to bolster their defenses in goal and recalled Parker Milner from loan with the Missouri Mavericks.
Milner, signed to an American Hockey League contract with the Sound Tigers, has a 9-3-0 record with two shutouts in 12 games this season with the Mavericks. His 1.67 goals against average is third in the ECHL, while his .938 save percentage is tied for second in the league.
This is Milner's second call-up the AHL this season, having made the trip to Bridgeport at the top of the Mavs ECHL season and returned on Oct. 22, 2015.
The transaction is the third of its kind this month for the Mavs, with Jesse Root and Josh Holmstrom recalled to the Mavericks AHL affiliate earlier in December.
The Mavericks return home to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for their next two games on New Year's Eve at 7:05p.m. against the Wichita Thunder, and New Year's Day at 4:10p.m. against the Allen Americans. Family 4-Packs are available for both games and include: 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Pepsi products, and 1 Red Robin appetizer (coupon)- starting at just $84!
