ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Sunday announced the following fines and suspension.

Manchester's Paquette fined, suspended

Manchester's Danick Paquette has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #388, Manchester at Adirondack, on Dec. 26.

Paquette was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.3 at 17:38 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Paquette will miss Manchester's game against Adirondack today (Dec. 27) and additional discipline will be announced later this week.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Norfolk's Mele fined

Norfolk's Tommy Mele has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #390, Norfolk at South Carolina, on Dec. 26.

Mele was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for spearing under Rule #62.5 at 3:51 of the third period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
