Mallards Sign Gjurich

MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards have signed forward Tyler Gjurich, the Mallards announced today.

Gjurich, 23, joins the Mallards after playing 17 highly productive games for the Federal Hockey League's Danbury Titans this season. The 5' 10", 190-pound, Hatfield, Pennsylvania, native is tied for the FHL lead in goals (20), is tied for third in points (32) and is tied for sixth in plus/minus rating (+14).

Gjurich returned to the ice this season after a year away from hockey. He broke into the professional ranks in 2013-14 with brief stints with the ECHL's San Francisco Bulls and the Southern Professional Hockey League's Columbus Cottonmouths. The 2013-14 campaign also saw Gjurich play four games for Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario.

Gjurich played junior hockey between 2009 and 2013, sandwiching two seasons with the Buffalo Junior Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League around two campaigns with the Eastern Junior Hockey League's Springfield Pics.

The Mallards meet the Indy Fuel today in Indianapolis. The Mallards next play at home Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. against the Evansville IceMen. Wednesday evening will see the Mallards team with Disc Replay to honor academic achievement with Disc Replay Report Card Night. Students with an "A" or other exemplary grade on any report card from the 2015-16 school year are eligible to receive a free ticket to Wednesday's game. Students or their parents can show report cards in order to receive a free ticket at the iWireless Center Box Office or at the Mallards office at the iWireless Center. Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including Wednesday's game- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $10, $16, $20 and $28.
