ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the team has signed forward Rylan Schwartz.

Schwartz, 25, joins the Solar Bears after splitting last season with the AHL's Worcester Sharks and Worcester's ECHL affiliate, the Allen Americans. In 65 combined games, Schwartz totaled 41 points (11g-30a) and 17 penalty minutes, en route to helping the Americans capture the Kelly Cup.

Since joining the Sharks organization near the end of the 2012-13 season, the native of Wilcox, Saskatchewan has posted 63 points (17g-46a) and 48 penalty minutes in 145 pro games.

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-10, 196-pound forward completed a four-year collegiate career with Colorado College, recording 159 points (59g-100a) and 167 penalty minutes in 156 games.

The Solar Bears host the Florida Everblades in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game as they continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A. on Sunday, Dec. 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.
