CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Norfolk Admirals were handed their second loss in a row against the South Carolina Stingrays at North Charleston Coliseum Sunday afternoon, 3-0.

South Carolina defenseman Nick Jones was first to the light the lamp during a power play after Norfolk captain Jordan Hill was called for interference at 17:37. Brett Cameron carried the puck along the left sidewall and found wide-open Jones at the top of the Admirals zone. Jones scored a blue line wrister at 18:33 in the opening frame to put the Stingrays in the lead, 1-0.

After a scoreless second period, a laser from the left point made by Wade Epp headed towards Norfolk netminder Nic Riopel's net. Forward Paul Rodrigues was near the left side of the crease, tipping it in at 7:36 to widen the margin, 2-0 in the final frame. As the Admirals pulled Riopel with less than two minutes left in regulation, Stingray defenseman Marcus Perrier scored an unassisted empty-netter at 18:36, securing a 3-0 victory.

Norfolk's Riopel blocked 22 out of 24 attempts on net as South Carolina goaltender Branden Komm managed to shut out all 25 shots, earning him the first star of the game. The Admirals went scoreless on seven power play opportunities while the Stingrays went 1-for-2.

The Admirals will face the Atlanta Gladiators for the first time this season to continue their four-game road trip on Tuesday, December 29 at 7:05 p.m.
