Toronto Marlies News Release
A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies clinched the North Division title with their 2-0 shutout victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins at Ricoh Coliseum tonight. The Marlies became only the second team in the AHL to clinch their division.
The Marlies are currently ranked tied for second in the AHL with 103 points overall and own a 47-18-3-6 record. With the victory tonight, Toronto has earned at least a point in 10 straight contests (9-0-0-1) and has outscored their opponents 18-3 in their previous four games.
The Toronto Marlies have set franchise records for most points and wins in a single season during the 2007-08 campaign.
The Marlies travel to Manitoba to battle the Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - on Friday and Saturday night,
with puck drop scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT for both games. The Marlies return to Ricoh Coliseum to take on the Chicago Wolves -
