Phantoms Menace Admirals Again
April 2, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Norfolk Admirals News Release
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Norfolk Admirals (26-42-2-5) fell to the Philadelphia Phantoms (43-25-3-3) 1-0 despite a 38-save effort from Marc Denis on Wednesday night at the Wachovia Spectrum.
The Phantoms took a 1-0 lead in the game's first five minutes. Pete Zingoni deflected a Jared Ross right point shot past Norfolk netminder Marc Denis for a power play goal at 4:56.
That was all the offense that Philadelphia netminder Martin Houle needed as he stopped all 23 Norfolk shot for the shutout victory. Zingoni's goal would be the only one of the Phantoms' 39 shots that got past Denis, who was saddled with the loss.
Norfolk was 0-5 on the power play. Philadelphia was 1-6.
The Admirals will return to Scope this weekend to close out the 2007-08 home schedule. They will face off against the Albany River Rats at 7:15 on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Saturday night is AAA Member Night and Fan Appreciation Night. AAA Members receive $3 off any red level seat when purchased at the Scope Box Office with a valid AAA card.
