HOUSTON, Texas - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed Miami University senior left wing Ryan Jones to a multi-year contract.

Jones, 23 (6/14/84), recorded 49 points (31-18=49) and 83 penalty minutes (PIM) in 42 games this season leading the RedHawks in goals, points and PIM. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound forward added seven game-winning goals and 11 power play tallies and ranked second in the NCAA in goals and tied for seventh in scoring. The Chatham, Ontario native is one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the top men's college hockey player, as he helped lead the RedHawks to a 33-8-1 record and a school best 33 wins before losing to Boston College 4-3 in overtime in the NCAA's Northeast Regional Final March 30. He finished his career second on Miami's all-time goal scoring list and never missed a game during his four-year collegiate career, serving as team captain the last two seasons.

Jones was selected by Minnesota in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He will report to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and will wear sweater #10 with the Aeros. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
