Phantoms To Hold Spring Cleaning Day

April 2, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Regardless of how bizarre the weather might be, spring will be in the air on Sunday, April 6 when the Phantoms host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Phantoms are holding Spring Cleaning Day during the game, which gets underway at 5:05.

The Phantoms are asking fans to bring unwanted clothing, food and other household items to the game on Sunday. The items will be collected and donated to area charities through the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation. There will also be a collection for all that loose change that fans find in the couches, under the bed, or buried in the car. A lucky row of fans will receive dust rags to take home, and there will be a broomball game on the ice between periods. On the ice, a member of the Phan Patrol will be dressed as Mr. Clean.

The Phantoms will also be giving away the latest in their team-autographed household item collection. Fans can enter to win several team-autographed items, including a team-signed dustpan and broom. In recognition of the "April Showers" that come through the Delaware Valley this time of year, the team will also give away a team-autographed shower curtain and team-autographed showerhead. Additional prizes will include various autographed items and other memorabilia found around the Wachovia Complex during spring cleaning.

The Phantoms hit the road for games in Bridgeport on Friday and in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday before coming back to the Spectrum for Sunday's festivities. Tickets are available at the Wachovia Complex box office, online at ComcastTIX.com or phantomshockey.com, or by phone at 1-800-298-4200.
