Syracuse Chiefs Players Chip Cannon and Curtis Thigpen to Appear at April 4 Crunch Game

Syracuse, NY (April 2, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Syracuse Chiefs first baseman Chip Cannon and catcher Curtis Thigpen will appear at the Friday, April 4 Crunch home game vs. Rochester.

Cannon and Thigpen will be signing autographs during the first intermission in Memorial Hall.

Cannon, 26, appeared in 109 games for AA New Hampshire last season, hitting .241 with 17 home runs and 53 runs batted in. A native of Fallbrook, California, Cannon was drafted by Toronto in the eighth round of the June 2004 First-Year Player Draft.

Thigpen, 24, appeared in 50 games with the Chiefs last season, hitting .285 with 3 home runs and 20 runs batted in. A native of Dallas, Texas, Thigpen was drafted by Toronto in the second round, 57th overall, of the June 2004 First-Year Player Draft.

The Syracuse Chiefs kick off their 2008 season on Thursday, April 3 at 2 p.m. vs. Louisville at Alliance Bank Stadium.
