Kalamazoo, MI- For the second-straight game, the Cincinnati Cyclones (5-0-2-0) used a goal with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to defeat the Kalamazoo Wings (5-3-0-0), this time 5-4 Saturday night at Wings Stadium.

Taking the early lead by doing what only one other team has done, Cincinnati's jumped ahead with a power-play goal from Andrew Hotham (1st). Digging the puck out of the right corner, Hotham was able to skate between the circles and beat Joel Martin with a wrist shot 3:25 into the period.

The goal was just the second first period goal surrendered by the K-Wings in eight games this season and the first since October 13th against Toledo.

The second period started off well for the K-Wings when Joe Charlebois (2nd) scored off a loose puck in front of the net and buried Kalamazoo's first goal of the game, tying the score at 1-1.

Continuing the theme of defense providing the offense, Elgin Reid (3rd) tipped home a shot from the point provided by Sam Ftorek. Collecting his second assist was Brett Lysak on the goal who also assisted the Charlebois goal. Reid's goal extended his point streak to three games.

However, that is where the second period fun ended for the home team. Cincinnati let loose a flurry of goals. Starting it off was Mike Pelech (2nd) who was credited for the goal after a pass from behind the net by Francois Bouchard hit off of Pelech skate and found its way into the back of the net.

It only took 14 seconds for Cincinnati to take the lead at 3-2 when Matias Lindstrom (1st) threw the puck across the net and it hit off of a Kalamazoo player and slipped by Martin.

The final goal of the frame came only 51 seconds later when Jonathan Hazen (2nd) slotted home a quick wrister to cap of a three goals in 1:05 stretch midway through the period.

Down but not out, Lysak (2nd, 3rd) pulled the K-Wings even late in the third period, netting a pair of power-play goals to cap off a four-point night.

Kalamazoo's jubilation was cut short, when Mike Embach (1st) sent a pass from behind the net that caromed off of Martin for the eventual game-winner with 2:48 remaining in regulation.

The K-Wings will wrap up the week tomorrow, Saturday, November 3rd, during an early 3 p.m. matinee versus the Fort Wayne Komets on Child Safety Day.
