TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

The Thunder continues Thunder Goes Pink VII tonight against the Alaska Aces at Stockton Arena. Tonight's game marks the first matchup since the two teams dueled in last season's Kelly Cup Playoffs, won by Alaska 4-1 in a best of seven Conference Semifinal series. The Thunder is 26-25-14 against Alaska in the lifetime series. This weekend, featuring back to back games between the Thunder and Aces, will feature several players with NHL playing experience, including Thunder forward Philippe Cornet and Alaska forwards Brandon Dubinsky, Joey Crabb and Nate Thompson.

LAST THREE GAMES:

STK 6 - BAK 1 (11/2/12): Justin Maylan put forth a two-goal effort as the Stockton Thunder (5-1-1, 11 points) took care of the Bakersfield Condors (3-5-1, 7 points) in a 6-1 victory to open Thunder Goes Pink VII in front of 5,717 fans on Friday at Stockton Arena. The Thunder claimed its fifth win in the last six games and was also aided by Cody Reichard's 19 saves in net.

STK 3 - BAK 2 (OT) (10/28/12): Tony DeHart's blast from the high slot with six seconds left in sudden death overtime lifted the Stockton Thunder (4-1-1, 9 points) to a 3-2 victory over the Bakersfield Condors before 5,062 fans at Stockton Arena on Sunday. The Thunder outshot the Condors 45-26 and were helped out with additional goals from Ryan Constant and Toni Rajala.

STK 4 - BAK 3 (10/27/12): Defenseman Teigan Zahn and center Justin Maylan each collected a goal and an assist, while goaltender Tyler Bunz made 21 saves to lift the Stockton Thunder (3-1-1, 7 points) to a 4-3 victory over the Bakersfield Condors before 4,759 fans at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night. The Thunder completed a four game road trip at 3-0-1 and earned the eventual game winning goal on a shorthanded breakaway by Matt Reber in the third period.

PRETTY (RECORD) IN PINK

When suiting up in special pink jerseys and playing on pink ice, the Thunder holds a record of 10-1-3 in the all time "Thunder Goes Pink" series which dates back to the 2006-07 season. Stockton has won five of its last six games in pink and took three points in two games last season against Utah in a 1-0 shootout defeat on Nov. 4 and 3-2 win the next evening.

THUNDER CROWDS ROLL IN

The Thunder has drawn over 200,000 fans for seven straight seasons to Stockton Arena, totaling over 1.5 million through the turnstiles since opening in 2005-06. There have been 17 sellouts at Stockton Arena in Thunder history and last season, there were seven crowds of 7,000 or more at Thunder home games. The Thunder drew a club record 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07. Last season, the Thunder ranked third in ECHL attendance.

The Thunder enters today ranking second in fewest goals allowed per game (2.1) in the ECHL. In addition, the Thunder defense has allowed just 23.8 shots per game, ranking third fewest in the entire league. No team has surpassed 30 shots on goal this season on the Thunder defense this season, which allowed a season low 17 shots to the Ontario Reign in a 4-0 victory on Oct. 13.

COVERED WITH OIL

The Edmonton Oilers return as the NHL affiliate of the Thunder for the seventh straight season, helping advance eight players from the Thunder onto playing in the National Hockey League. The Thunder has also never missed the playoffs since first connecting with the Oilers in 2006-07. Edmonton has won five Stanley Cup championships and sent seven players onto induction in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Among the players assigned to Stockton, beginning this season, was LW Philippe Cornet, who made his NHL debut with Edmonton and led the AHL affiliate Oklahoma City Barons with 24 goals last season.

OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN

Garet Hunt was named the sixth captain in Thunder history on Oct. 12, taking the "C" for the first time in his career for full-time duty. Hunt served as an alternate captain for the Thunder last season and has helped guide the team to the playoffs for four straight seasons since his 2008-09 rookie campaign. Hunt is the Thunder all time leader with 251 games played.
