Ontario Reign News Release
LAS VEGAS, NV - The Ontario Reign (6-4-0-0), defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, completed their seven-game road trip with a decisive 4-0 victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers (3-3-1-0) at Orleans Arena before a crowd of 5,099. Colton Yellow Horn lit the lamp a little more than a minute into play after Brodie Sheahan brought the puck into the Wranglers zone. Brodie got it out to Dan DaSilva in front of the net who helped Yellow Horn sneak the puck past Mitch O'Keefe for the only goal of the frame.
A scoreless second period had both teams moving the puck well but neither found the back of the net. Chris Carrozzi made some big saves and warded off a Wranglers man-advantage.
The Reign picked up the pace in the final period with two goals right out of the gate. CJ Stretch netted one off a rebound just 16 seconds into the frame with Cameron Burt picking up the assist. Twenty seconds later, Yellow Horn gave the Reign a three-goal lead. Brodie picked up the assist on Yellow Horn's goal for the second time of the night. Mario Lamoureux and Chris Cloud took control of the puck in the Wranglers end and got it back to defenseman Brock Sheahan. Brock brought the puck to the high slot where he fired a slapshot right past O'Keefe for the final tally of the night.
Carrozzi earned his fourth professional shutout, and the Reign's first of the season, stopping all of the Wranglers' 27 shots. O'Keefe took the loss stopping 27 of 31 Reign shots.
