
Thunder Signs Veteran Defenseman Jordan Henry

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced today that the team has signed veteran defenseman Jordan Henry. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Henry, 26, is expected to make his debut in a Thunder uniform tonight at 7:30 p.m. (1280 KWSX/StocktonThunder.com) against the Alaska Aces at Stockton Arena.
The 6-foot-3 and 195 pound blueliner has competed in 262 career games in the American Hockey League with Rochester, Abbotsford and Chicago and collected 66 points along with 385 penalty minutes. Most recently, he suited up for Södertälje (Sweden) this season, collecting a goal and an assist in seven games.
Henry notched a career high 13 goals and 31 points with Rochester in 2009-10, helping guide the club to a berth in the Calder Cup Playoffs. He also scored four goals in seven postseason games that year.
He skated in 20 games with the Florida Everblades (ECHL) in 2007-08 and picked up four points and a +1 rating.
Henry was born in High River, Alberta and spent four seasons of his junior career with Red Deer and Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey League. He finished with 73 points and 536 penalty minutes in 270 games.
Henry skated in 72 games with Red Deer in 2006-07 and paced the team's defensemen in scoring with a career high 32 points.
A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
