Kings Assign Schenn to Brandon

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned forward Brayden Schenn to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Schenn, 19, has played in eight games for the Kings this season and has recorded two points (both assists) and zero penalty minutes. The Kings' first-round choice (fifth overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Schenn is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He made his NHL debut last season and became the third youngest player to ever play for the club. Schenn recorded seven points (3-47) in seven games with the Monarchs this season.

Schenn has played for the Wheat Kings the past three seasons. Last season, the Wheat Kings advanced to the Memorial Cup before losing to Calgary.
