Abbotsford Heat News Release


TORONTO ON - The Toronto Marlies scored twice in the first ten minutes of the hockey game, then held on to beat the Abbotsford Heat 6-4 in AHL action on Friday night in Toronto.

The Heat power play finally sprung to life, scoring all four goals with the man advantage. Bryan Cameron, Matt Keith, Stefan Meyer and Lance Bouma with his third goal in four games scored goals for the Heat. Leland Irving was chased from the goal after allowing two goals on seven shots. Matt Keetley jumped in for the Heat, but was unable to stem the Toronto tide, allowing four goals on eighteen shots.

With the loss, the Heat fall into a fourth place tie with the Manitoba Moose in the ultra competitive North Division. The Marlies and Heat will meet again on Saturday afternoon in Toronto. The Diamond Bar Equipment and Prospect Equipment Pre Game show at 11:45 AM, with the puck drop at 12 noon. All action can be heard on Country 107.1 FM.
