Mathieu Roy Reassigned to Admirals by Lightning

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned defenseman Mathieu Roy ("mah-TYOO WAH") to the Admirals, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Roy, 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, has played in four games with the Lightning this season recording two penalty minutes. Roy has played in 65 career NHL games with Tampa Bay, Columbus and Edmonton, notching two goals and 13 points.

A native of St. Georges, Qu=C3(c)bec, Roy has played in 13 games for the Admirals this season, recording two goals and 11 points with 25 penalty minutes. Roy has skated in 269 career AHL games with Norfolk, Syracuse, Rochester, Springfield, Hamilton, Edmonton and Toronto, amassing 18 goals and 106 points.

Roy was drafted by Edmonton in the seventh round, 215th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He signed with Tampa Bay as a free agent on July 29, 2010.
