
IceCaps Down Marlies 4-3 in a Shootout

The St. John's IceCaps defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 4-3 in a shootout this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.
After a scoreless opening period, Ben Maxwell gave the IceCaps a 1-0 lead at 4:12 of the middle frame. Ryan Lasch would tie the game at one, scoring his fourth goal of the season at 7:03. St. John's grabbed a 2-1 lead on an Eric O'Dell tally with under three minutes remaining in the second period. The IceCaps opened up a two goal lead early in the third period on Carl Klingberg's 11th goal of the year. Toronto tied the game at three on goals from Spencer Abbott and Greg Scott midway through the final frame. After a scoreless overtime period, St. John's notched three shootout goals to Toronto's one.
