Last Weeks Highlights:
2/14/06 > Long Beach 3 @ Phoenix 1
The Ice Dogs tied the ECHL record for consecutive road victories with their 10th in a row Tuesday night, defeating the Phoenix Roadrunners by a score a 3-1. Sean McAslan extended his point streak to eight games, scoring the first goal of the game shorthanded. He added an assist on a goal by Christian Larrivee that gave Long Beach a 2-1 lead. Justin Aikins scored an empty net goal with 20 seconds left and Jaroslav Halak got the win with 26 saves. The Ice Dogs went 1-9 on the power play while stopping all nine of Phoenix's opportunities.
2/17/06 > Long Beach 1 @ Alaska 5
Trying to break the ECHL record with their 11th consecutive road victory, the Ice Dogs hit a brick wall by falling to the league leading Alaska Aces, 5-1, on Friday night. Christian Larrivee scored the only goal for Long Beach with 3:14 remaining, after the Aces had built a 5-0 lead. Jaroslav Halak took the loss despite making 27 saves. The Ice Dogs went 0-7 on the power play and the Aces were 2-10.
2/18/06 > Long Beach 4 @ Alaska 1
The Ice Dogs got back in the win column Saturday night, handing the Alaska Aces just their third regulation loss at home this season. The game was scoreless after two periods until Sean McAslan scored at 6:07 of the third. Michael Lambert then scored a natural hat trick, with two of those goals coming as empty netters late in the game. Jaroslav Halak kept the Aces guessing all night, making 37 saves for the win.
2/19/06 > Long Beach 2 @ Alaska 3 (OT)
The Ice Dogs were able to earn their third point in as many games versus the first place Alaska Aces Sunday night, with a 3-2 overtime loss. Responding to a 2-0 deficit, Michael Lambert and Steeve Villeneuve both scored to tie it up and send the game into overtime. Jaroslav Halak had 20 saves. Long Beach was 0-8 on the power play while Alaska was 1-7.
