Lang earns ECHL In Glas Co Player of the Week honors
February 21, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release
Lynx captain Ryan Lang has been named the ECHL In Glas Co Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 19.
The Regina, Sask. native had a major impact on the Lynx as the team went 3-0-0 this week. On Tuesday against the Gwinnett Gladiators, Lang scored twice including a heart-stopping goal with just 8 seconds remaining to give Augusta a 6-5 regulation win. Lang also tallied an assist in the contest and was +2. Friday night the 25-year-old center scored the tying goal as Augusta went on to defeat Pensacola in overtime, and Saturday Lang posted two assists in a 5-2 win over Columbia.
For the week, Lang finished with three goals, six points, and a +5 rating.
Augusta will take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots in back-to-back road games Tuesday and Thursday night at 8:05 pm EST, followed by their final trip to visit the South Carolina Stingrays on Saturday night for a 7 pm contest. The team will next play at home on March 8 against the Ice Pilots at 7:35 pm.
