Titans upended by Royals 3-1

READING, PA (February 21, 2006) - Two goals scored in a span of forty-six seconds in the third period allowed the Reading Royals to hand the Trenton Titans a 3-1 loss at the Sovereign Center on Tuesday night.

After the scoreless first period, Doug Christiansen broke the tie with a power play goal, depositing Eric Werner's rebound at 4:37 of the second.

Despite Trenton controlling the offensive pressure early in the third frame, it was Reading going up 2-0 when Werner capped off a three-on-one at 13:41.

Forty-six seconds later, Malcolm McMillan forced a turnover at Trenton's blueline and broke in alone to notch his eighth of the year.

Stephen Wood, assigned from the Phantoms today, got the Titans on the board with a goal on the man-advantage with 2:02 remaining in regulation.

Cody Rudkowsky made sure the Titans came no closer making 33-of-34 saves on the night.

The Titans finished 1-for-5 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
