SAUGET, IL - The Gateway Grizzlies are pleased to announce that Landon Hernandez and Jon Myers were named to the Frontier League post-season all-star team, while Geof Manzo was named Trainer of the Year.

Hernandez and Myers were both named mid-season all-stars in 2013. The Trainer of the Year honor was the third for Manzo.

"I'm proud of all three guys for their honors," Grizzlies manager Phil Warren said. "Landon and Jon have had great years on the field and Geof continues to be the best trainer in the league."

Hernandez, who named the Grizzlies team MVP, entered Sunday with a .286 average, 15 home runs and 62 runs batted in. This marks the third straight year Hernandez has been named a post-season all-star.

"I challenged Landon before the season and he has lived up to the challenge," Warren mentioned. "This has been a career-year for him offensively."

Myers started Sunday with a .278 average, a league-best 23 home runs and 55 RBI.

"Jon got off to a great start, cooled off and now he has picked it up again," Warren stated. "I'm proud of him for getting this honor."

Manzo, who is completing his 11th season with the Grizzlies, continues to shine as the Grizzlies Head Athletic Trainer.

"It's great to see the league notice Geof's talent and hard work. We are lucky to have him."

The Grizzlies finish off the 2013 regular season Tuesday-Thursday at Southern Illinois. First pitch is set for 7:05 on Tuesday.
