
Hamilton Powers Freedom to Victory

Washington,PA-Florence Freedom 1B Jeremy Hamilton drove in three runs as the Freedom continue to make their push for the playoffs with a 6-3 win Saturday night over the Washington Wild Things at Consol Energy Park.
Hamilton hit a two run homerun to left field in the first inning against Washington starter Shawn Blackwell(4-9). It was Hamilton's eighth homerun of the season.
The Freedom(51-41) extended their lead in the third inning. Junior Arrojo singled into centerfield scoring Pablo Bermudez giving the Freedom a 3-0 lead. The next batter was David Harris who drove a two run double to the alley in right center making it 5-0. Hamilton also added an RBI groundout in the inning for a 6-0 lead.
Freedom starter Andy Clark(3-0) worked six innings allowing nine hits on three runs with four walks and three strikeouts. AJ Nunziato hit a two run homerun against Clark in the third getting the Wild Things on the scoreboard.
Washington scored the final run of the game in the fifth when Stewart Ijames produced an RBI single into right field.
Freedom relievers Daniel DeSimone and Jorge Marban combined for three shutout innings out of the Freedom bullpen. DeSimone retired all six batters he faced in the seventh and eighth.
Marban entered the game in the ninth and he recorded his twenty fifth save of the year after he struck out CJ Beatty to end the game.
The Freedom and Wild Things will wrap up their three game series Sunday night. RHP Casey Henn(4-0,3.64) starts for Florence. Washington will send LHP Dayne Quist(8-3, 2.66) to the mound. The game can be heard with Steve Jarnicki starting at 4:50 pm on 1320 AM WCVG and gospel1320.com.
