SAUGET, IL - On Sunday night, in front of 5,494 fans at GCS Ballpark, the Frontier League awarded the Gateway Grizzlies the 2014 Frontier League All-Star game. The Grizzlies last hosted the league All-Star festivities in 2003.

"The Grizzlies are a perfect choice to host the All-Star week in 2014," Frontier League Commissioner Bill Lee said. "The Grizzlies set the bar high in 2003 when they brought in nearly 5,300 fans and put on a fantastic show with the All-Star festivities that year."

The 2014 All-Star week, presented by the Casino Queen, will begin on July 13th and end July 16th.

"We are thrilled to be working with the Casino Queen to host the All-Star game festivities at GCS Ballpark," Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric remarked. "We are two locally owned organizations partnering to bring a tremendous event to this area. In 2003 we established the standard for All-Star games. Next season we plan on blowing that standard out of the water. This is a once in a decade event and we plan on treating it as such."

The 2014 Frontier League All-Star week will include a Fan Fest, All-Star/Hall of Fame Luncheon, All-Star Home Run Derby and it finishes up with the 2014 Frontier League All-Star game on July 16th.

A more formal schedule will be announced at a later date.

The Grizzlies finish off the 2013 regular season Tuesday-Thursday at Southern Illinois. First pitch is set for 7:05 on Tuesday.
