January 30, 2026 - SAUGET, ILL. - The Gateway Grizzlies announce that they have signed right-handed pitcher Jake Burcham and infielder Sawyer Smith, bringing back a pair of young players who made their professional debuts with the club in 2025. Matt Hickey Comes Back to Grizzlies

January 29, 2026 - SAUGET, ILL. - The Gateway Grizzlies announce that they have re-signed right-handed relief pitcher Matt Hickey for the 2026 season, bringing back one of their mainstays out of the bullpen for a third go-around in Sauget. Hickey continued to be one of the most-reliable relievers for Gateway in 2025, appearing in 49 games (the second-most on the team), and putting up a 3.20 ERA with 54 strikeouts and 18 walks in 50 2/3 innings. Cole Brannen Returns to Grizzlies

January 28, 2026 - SAUGET, ILL. - The Gateway Grizzlies announce that they have re-signed outfielder Cole Brannen, with the experienced outfielder coming back for a third full summer with the club in 2026. Hailing originally from Georgia, Brannen is coming off the best offensive season of his professional career in 2025. Long known for his outstanding defense and speed, he set career-highs with 12 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 18 doubles while playing in 93 of a possible 96 games with the Grizzlies, adding a .253 average and 22 stolen bases again... Dale Thomas Re-Signs with Grizzlies

January 27, 2026 - SAUGET, ILL. - The Gateway Grizzlies announce that they have re-signed infielder Dale Thomas, bringing back a mainstay of their lineup as they build the roster for the upcoming 2026 campaign. After signing with the Grizzlies late in 2024 and playing in 24 games down the stretch, Thomas blossomed as a full-time starter in 2025.
