Hartigan Sets Another Franchise Mark: Center Mark Hartigan set his second franchise mark this season, tallying a point in 16 consecutive games (16g, 18a). He also holds the franchise mark of longest assist streak of 12 games, set December 18, 2005 - January 28, 2006. He has two hat tricks on the season. He is one point shy of his 200th career AHL point. Hartigan continues to climb the Crunch's all-time leaders list, moving into a fourth place tie with Brad Moran fourth 13 game-winning goals. He is fourth with 153 points all-time, fourth with 29 power play goals, and fifth with 74 goals. Through 32 games this season, Hartigan has a team high 48 points (20g, 28a). In 14 games with Columbus this season, Hartigan has recorded 1 goal and 12 penalty minutes. A native of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Hartigan was re-signed as a free agent by Columbus August 22, 2005.
Coach Agnew Gets 200th Win: Crunch head coach Gary Agnew recorded his 200th career victory in Syracuse's 1-0 overtime win over Bridgeport on Sunday, January 29. In six seasons with the Crunch, Agnew has a 200-168-43(T)-30-5 record in 446 career AHL games. Agnew guided the Crunch to their first-ever division and regular season conference championships in 2001-02, setting franchise marks in wins (39) and points (96). His .526 career winning percentage, entering this season is tops in franchise history.
Defenseman Aaron Johnson Introduces âJohnny's Juniors' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that defenseman Aaron Johnson has formed a new program called âJohnny's Juniors'.
Crunch defenseman Aaron Johnson developed this program to help bring a smile to the face of area children, allowing them to enjoy a professional hockey game. Through the Johnny's Juniors program, twenty (20) tickets to each Crunch home game beginning Saturday, January 14 will be donated to area non-profit organizations, in addition each child will receive a Crunch puck and autographed 8X10 photo of Aaron Johnson.
Due to the significant response and number of requests the Crunch has already received regarding this program, guidelines and criteria have been established as to how deserving organizations will be selected. These guidelines are in place to assure fairness, professionalism and to maximize the support the Crunch Foundation can provide the greater Syracuse community. To apply to become part of the Johnny's Juniors program, please contact the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.
In keeping with the American Hockey League tradition of community involvement, the Syracuse Crunch have made a conscious effort to become an integral part of the Central New York community since the club's commencement. To achieve this, the club established the Crunch Foundation in 1994 to serve the community and their fans as a grant-making public charity.
The mission of the Foundation states: "The Syracuse Crunch Foundation will utilize the unique talents of it's professional athletes, coaches and staff to improve the quality of life throughout the community by dedicating time, resources, and financial support to organizations committed to meeting the educational, cultural, health and wellness needs of its citizens."
Since the club's beginning, the Syracuse Crunch have been committed to helping
meet the needs of the community it represents as well as providing exceptional sports entertainment. The programs of the Crunch Foundation have touched thousands through the variety of educational projects, special events, and initiatives. The success of these programs are due to the cooperation of ownership, management, players and wives, front office staff and the generous contributions of the team's partners. The Crunch is proud to be a part of Syracuse and Central New York and to be able to give something back to their community.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
CLEVELAND (SAN JOSE SHARKS): Syracuse continues their five-game road trip in Cleveland on Friday, February 3 for the fifth of six regular season games against the Barons. Syracuse leads the series 3-1-0 after defeating Cleveland 6-3 in their previous meeting on January 21 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Right wing Joe Motzko (3g, 1a) and left wing Joakim Lindstrom (2g, 2a) lead all Crunch players in head-to-head scoring with four points. Center Josh Hennessy (1g, 3a) leads all Cleveland players with four points in head-to-head scoring. Goaltender Martin Prusek has a 2-0-0 record against Cleveland. Cleveland goaltender Jamie Holden has the lone victory for the Barons. Lifetime, the Crunch are 22-13-1 against the Barons.
GRAND RAPIDS (DETROIT RED WINGS): The Griffins host the Crunch at Van Andel Arena on Saturday, February 4 for the fourth of six regular season games. Grand Rapids leads the series 3-0-0 after beating Syracuse 4-3 on December 18 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Center Eric Manlow (4g, 3a) leads all players in head-to-head scoring with seven points. Defensemen Aaron Johnson (4a) and Andy Delmore (4a) lead the Crunch in head-to-head scoring with four points. Goaltender Andrew Penner appeared in one game for Syracuse, stopping 35 shots. Grand Rapids has had three different goaltenders between the pipes. Lifetime, the Crunch are 1-6-0 against the Griffins.

Coleman's âDinner and a Game' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the Coleman's âDinner and a Game' program.
During the month of January any party that orders two (2) dinner entrees will receive a Crunch ticket voucher valid for two (2) tickets to a future Crunch home game of the customer's choice.
Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant is located on the corner of Tompkins Street and Lowell Avenue on Syracuse's Tipperary Hill. For directions call 476- 1933. At this Irish Pub, atmosphere is just as important as flavor. There you'll find custom crafted stained glass windows with intricate designs from the Book of Kells, paintings from the Irish National Gallery, and a dark oak bar patterned after the original Jury's in Dublin.
P&C Foods & Pharmacy âBring a Crunch Player to School' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the P&C Foods & Pharmacy âBring a Crunch Player to School' program.
P&C Foods & Pharmacy and the Syracuse Crunch are teaming up during the 2005-06 season to encourage area school children to write an essay explaining why they would like a Syracuse Crunch player to visit their classroom.
Students can pick up entry forms at Syracuse area P&C Foods & Pharmacy and Syracuse Crunch home games. All essays must be dropped off at P&C Foods & Pharmacy or the Crunch office by February 4, 2006.
A panel of P&C Foods & Pharmacy executives and Crunch players will select ten (10) winning students from the submitted essays. Each of the ten (10) winning students will receive an appearance by a Crunch player in their classroom. In addition, each student in the class will receive a Crunch pennant and a snack from P&C Foods & Pharmacy.

Taco Bell Night Set For Friday, February 10: The Syracuse Crunch announced that their Friday, February 10 game against the Binghamton Senators is Taco Bell Night at the Crunch.
Local Taco Bell stores will serve as outlets for vouchers good for discounted tickets to Taco Bell Night at the Crunch, courtesy of Taco Bell.

Quickway Trading Card Night Set For February 11: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Quickway, announced that their Saturday, February 11 game against Rochester will be Quickway Trading Card Night.
The first 1,500 fans in attendance at the Saturday, February 11 game, will receive the first 13 of the twenty-seven 2005- 06 trading card set. The remaining 14-card set will be available, beginning that night, at area Quickway locations.

Masters of Karate to Perform at Crunch's Saturday, February 11 Game: The Syracuse Crunch announced that Masters of Karate students will perform during the first intermission of the Crunch's Saturday, February 11 game against Rochester. Masters of Karate has locations in Cicero, Syracuse and Cazenovia. Call 699-9699 for information.
New York State Lottery Night: The Syracuse Crunch announced that their Saturday, February 11 game against the Rochester Americans will be New York State Lottery Night at the Crunch.
The first 500 fans, 18 and over, in attendance will receive a Lotto coupon good for $1 off a Mega Millions lottery ticket, courtesy of New York State Lottery. NY Lottery will have a table located on the concourse for fans to enter to receive a NY Lottery coupon.

Crunch Players To Appear at DealMaker in Watertown: The Syracuse Crunch announced that defensemen Andy Canzanello and Marc Methot and center Geoff Platt will be at DealMaker Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Watertown on Sunday, February 12.
Canzanello, Methot and Platt will be available from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, February 12 to sign autographs and take pictures. DealMaker Dodge Chrysler Jeep is located at 1068 Arsenal Street, Watertown. Call 782-3325 for directions.
Crunch Announce Details of Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year Program: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Time Warner Cable, introduced the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year program to salute the hockey moms who dedicate their time and energy to taking their kids to hockey practices through all kinds of weather and at all hours.
During the 2005-06 season, youth hockey kids will be encouraged to nominate their mom as the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year. The child must write an essay, up to 250 words, giving reason why their mom is Hockey Mom of the Year. The application can be mailed, emailed or dropped off at the Crunch office.
A panel of judges, including Crunch/Time Warner Cable management and Crunch players will select one (1) winner each month. Each monthly winner will receive four (4) tickets to a Crunch game, participate in a ceremonial face-off, a prize pack from Time Warner Cable and a post game tour of the locker room for up to four (4) people.
All winners will be eligible to win the Grand Prize, which includes a one (1) year membership to Gold's Gym, a spa gift certificate and dinner for two (2) to an area restaurant.

Crunch Announce Details of Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year Contest: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Advance Auto Parts, introduced the Advance Auto Parts Fan of Year program to salute the loyal hockey fans who dedicate their time and energy following the Crunch.
Beginning November 7 and running through March 20, the Crunch will select one (1) fan as a finalist for the Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year. Each of the twenty (20) finalists will be featured on the Crunch's official website (www.syracusecrunch.com), receive a "Best PART of the Crunch" t-shirt and a gift certificate to Advance Auto Parts.
A panel of judges, including Crunch/Advance Auto Parts management and Crunch players will select three (3) finalists from the twenty (20) featured fans. Crunch fans will then select the Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year through in-arena and website voting.
The winner will be announced prior to the final home game of the season during an on-ice presentation.
