February 4, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

California

The Grizzlies are currently 3-1 this year playing in California.

Hat Tricks

With Garett Bembridge's four goal output on Friday, the Grizzlies have now had seven players this year record at least three goals in a game. Micheal Haley, Ryan Kinasewich, Keith Johnson, Justin Bourne, Olivier Labelle along with Tyler Haskins who recorded two in two games January 16-18 are the others.

Schedule Science

By Saturday, the Grizzlies will have completed 11 games in 16 nights. Utah completed the first half of this stretch with seven games in nine nights. Only one of those days off will not have been a travel day. Three of those days will include both travel and a game.

Scoring!

The Grizzlies have scored in a season-high 11 of their last 12 periods. Utah has scored 17 goals in their last three games, including 15 goals in two games January 31 and February 1 versus Alaska.

Taking Streaks To California

James Sanford (one goal, three assists) and Keith Johnson (two goals, four assists) currently carry four-game scoring streaks into California.

Third Place

By taking two of three games from the Alaska Aces last weekend at the E-Center, the Grizzlies have surpassed the Aces and moved into third place in the ECHL's West Division.

Player Development

With the promotion of defenseman Jeff Dwyer to the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport on Thursday, there have now been 14 players this year who have played for both the Grizzlies and the Sound Tigers. With the constant player changes, Utah still has played consistent hockey and remains above .500.
