Phoenix RoadRunners News Release

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have acquired defenseman Ryan Reid and future considerations from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for center Scott Kelman and defenseman Corey LeClair.

Reid, 27, has three goals, five points, and 53 penalty minutes, and leads the Bombers with a plus-eight rating through 34 games. The Chicago, Ill. native and third-year professional ranked second overall in the ECHL in 2006-07 with a career-best plus-minus rating of plus-31, and helped the Bombers advance to the 2007 Kelly Cup Finals while recording two goals, 12 points, and a career-high 105 penalty minutes in 72 regular season games. Reid also appeared in all 22 Kelly Cup playoff contests registering one assist and 14 penalty minutes.

"Ryan has established himself as one of the top defensive defenseman in the ECHL over the past two seasons, and this is clearly an area where we need the most improvement if we're going to make a push in the playoff race," said RoadRunners Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Church.

"It's difficult to part with quality players like Scott and Corey," continued Church, "but they've been tremendous professionals in this process and throughout the season and I wish them continued success for the rest of the year."

Reid began his professional career at the conclusion of the 2004-05 season with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and notched two goals and three points in 11 games and skated in all three Kelly Cup playoff games. He was a four-year letter winner at NCAA Division I Lake Superior State University from 2001-05 where he totaled two goals, 23 points, and 219 penalty minutes in 133 career games.

Kelman leaves the RoadRunners with seven goals and 25 points in 32 games, while LeClair totaled two goals and 15 points in 45 contests.

The RoadRunners continue their five-game home-stand at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday as they open a two-game series with the Las Vegas Wranglers at US Airways Center.

Great seats are still available beginning as low as $8 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (480) 784-4444, purchasing online at ticketmaster.com or visiting the US Airways Center Box Office.
