
Forward Jason Beeman Acquired From Texas

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has acquired right wing Jason Beeman from the Texas Wildcatters in exchange for future considerations.
Beeman, 22, returns from a short-season stint with the San Jose Sharks-affiliated China Sharks of the Asian League, scoring 28 points (16g-12a) in 29 games with 111 penalty minutes. The Los Angeles, Calif. native has appeared in 68 career ECHL games (2005-07) with the Texas Wildcatters and Long Beach Ice Dogs, scoring 25 points (8g-17a) with 143 penalty minutes and has scored six points (2g-4a) with 28 penalty minutes in 14 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Last season, Beeman tallied 143 penalty minutes and 25 points (8g-17a) in 68 games with Texas, helping guide the club to a 41-22-9 record (91 points) and a berth in the American Conference's South Division Final round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The 5-foot-11, 213-pound forward spent five seasons (2001-06) of his junior hockey career with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, scoring 165 points (68g-97a) and tallying 555 penalty minutes in 326 career games. Beeman tallied career-highs in points (58), goals (28) and assists (30) in 2005-06 and scored 10 points (5g-5a) in 24 career junior playoff games.
Beeman is the second California-born native to dot the Thunder roster, joining defenseman Mark Adamek (Hollister, Calif.).
The Thunder returns to play on Wednesday, February 6 with a 7:00 p.m. home game against the Utah Grizzlies from Stockton Arena. The game can be heard live on radio at 1420-AM KSTN and online (video and audio available) at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
The Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for two consecutive seasons and drew 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07.
