Grizzlies Fall Short Of Sweep

West Valley City, Utah - The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies (22-20-0-4) Saturday night at the E-Center as Utah fell short of their attempt of a three-game series sweep.

Utah never led in the game after falling behind 2-0 in the first period.

The Grizzlies rallied to make the game 2-1 in the second on a Justin Johnson (3) goal assisted by Travis Rycroft and James Sanford.

The Grizzlies then made the game 3-2 in the third on a Travis Rycroft (4) goal assisted by Keith Johnson. The Aces added another insurance goal 41 seconds later from Matt Robinson at 8:05 to make it 4-2 and that would be the final score.

Nathan Lawson stopped 32 of 36 in the loss.

The Grizzlies return to action Tuesday in Fresno to open a four-game road trip.

Utah returns home Thursday, February 14 to open a three-game home stand with Bakersfield. All Utah home games start at 7:05 p.m.
