PHOENIX, Ariz. - Lance Galbraith tallied a goal and added two assists, and rookie goalie Matt Zaba turned aside all 28 shots he faced to collect his first professional shutout as the Idaho Steelheads blanked the Phoenix RoadRunners 3-0 before 4,177 at US Airways Center in ECHL action Saturday.
Idaho (25-14-7) out-shot Phoenix (16-24-6) 31-17 through two periods, but neither team could find the back of the net.
Marty Flichel snapped the scoreless tie 2:34 into the third when John Lammers found the Steelheads' captain wide open in the slot, and Flichel snapped the puck over the right shoulder of RoadRunners' goalie Cody Rudkowsky. Galbraith added to the lead minutes later with a power play goal from the right-wing circle at 7:28 beating Rudkowsky along the ice for a 2-0 advantage. Taggart Desmet scored an empty-net power play goal at 19:22 to complete the Idaho attack.
