Devils Drop a Tough One to Cinci, 2-1

Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Devils played toe-to-toe with the North Division leaders for fifty-seven minutes, but a late goal by Barret Ehgoetz would give the Cincinnati Cyclones a 2-1 win. The goal prevented Trenton from gaining at least three of a possible four points on the final weekend of their longest homestand of the season.
Trevor Kell got the Devils on the board first after he received a brilliant set-up pass by Matt Radoslovich. The forward re-directed Radoslovich's feed right between the pads of goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris for a 1-0 lead 7:08 into the opening frame.
The Devils would hold on to the advantage into the first intermission, a situation which had been a good sign all season. Leading up to the game Trenton was 8-0-0 when leading in the first period. But Cincinnati slowly climbed out of the hole.
A power play goal by Thomas Beauregard equalized the score for the Cyclones 3:28 into the second period. Beauregard had space at the bottom dot to wrist a shot past netminder Dave Caruso's stick-side.
The two teams would then find themselves in a stalemate until three minutes remained in regulation. After a Trenton shot narrowly missed the net and clanged off the crossbar, Cincinnati raced back and set up the game-winning shot, a knock-in by Barret Ehgoetz in the crease.
Caruso took the tough-luck loss, stopping 29 of 31 shots. Grumet-Morris earned his third win against Trenton this season, making 27 saves on 28 shots.
The Trenton Devils head off on the road for the first time in three weeks when they skate for redemption against the Cincinnati Cyclones at the US Bank Arena on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. Tune into WTSR 91.3 or go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
