Salmon Kings' Kelly Recalled To Manitoba

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that defenseman Matt Kelly has been recalled by the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

This will be Kelly's second appearance in the American Hockey League with the Moose this season. Earlier this season he played in three games for Manitoba collecting two minutes in penalties.

Kelly has played in 32 contests for the Salmon Kings this season, amassing four goals and eight assists for 12 points. In his first trip to Manitoba he played in three games, picking up two penalty minutes.

The 6-2, 195 lbs rearguard played in 59 games for Victoria last season, and played for the Moose in 2005-06 when he joined the team for three games after finishing up his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League. The 22-year-old is under contract to the Moose.

The Salmon Kings roster now sits at 21 players (13 forwards, 6 defensemen and two goalies).

Victoria's next action will be against the Bakersfield Condors in California on Tuesday night. The Salmon Kings return to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday, Feb. 11 to take on the Fresno Falcons at 7:05 p.m. PT. Please call 220-7889 for ticket information.
