
Jackals Get Crunch D-Man; Ferazzoli Released

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that they have received defenseman Andrei Plekhanov on loan from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League and have released center Chris Ferazzoli.
Plekhanov, 21, has appeared in 26 games with the Crunch this season, posting two goals, 12 assists and six penalty minutes. He has also appeared in three games for Elmira this season with one assist. A native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, Plekhanov was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 96th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Ferazzoli, 27, was pointless in his only game with the club, a 4-3 loss to Trenton last night. He returns to the Indiana Ice Miners of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL). In 26 games, Ferazzoli has 65 points on 22 goals and 43 assists, good for second in team scoring. He had a 25-game point scoring streak end in the Ice Miners last game, a 2-1 win over Wooster Wednesday night.

Elmira's next home game is tonight against the Reading Royals in a 7:35 p.m. face-off.
