February 2, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
TRENTON, New Jersey - Barret Ehgoetz's 13th goal of the season with 3:05 to play rallied the Cincinnati Cyclones to a 2-1 victory at Trenton on Saturday night. It was the sixth straight win for the Cyclones.
Trenton opened the scoring at 7:08 of the first period when Trevor Kell slipped his ninth goal of the season through the legs of Cyclones netminder Dov Grumet-Morris from the left side slot. Matt Radoslovich and Jason Bonsignor added the assists. The Devils outshot Cincinnati, 14-11, in the opening frame.
The Cyclones leveled the scores at 1-1 when Thomas Beauregard snapped off his 21st goal of the season at 3:28 on the power play. Beauregard fired the shot from inside the slot to the right of goaltender Dave Caruso. Andrew Martin and Cory Urquhart added the assists. The shots on goal in the second period were tied at ten apiece.
The game winning goal came from Barret Ehgoetz with 3:05 to play. Ehgoetz at the top of the goal crease re-directed a shot from Andrew Martin , as Scott Reynolds added the other assist.
Goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris stopped 27 shots in picking up his 17th win of the season. It was the 13th time this season that the Cyclones have rallied for a victory.
For the first time in team history, the Cincinnati Cyclones are 23 games above .500, with a 31-8-3 record and sole possession of first place in the North Division. The triumph gives Cincinnati a 15-2-1 record since December 15. Trenton drops to 18-23-4. The magic number for clinching a playoff berth is 30.
Cincinnati is next in action on Wednesday, February 6 for a 10am game against Mississippi, in one of the âEducation In Hockey Day' games the club will host this season. That game opens a four-game homestand for the Cyclones, who are 10-0-2 in their last twelve at U.S. Bank Arena.
