Freddie Sees Shadow, Predicts Falcons Will Catch Vegas In Pacific
February 2, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Ca. - Freddie Falcon, the Dean of the Central Valley mascots, made history today when he stepped outside the Zamboni entrance at the Save Mart Center and saw his shadow in front of him for the first time. Freddie, who has a ten foot wing span and always cast a big shadow has never really seen his own shadow until today. Witnesses say Freddie's shadow, which was cast on the pavement of the Save Mart Center parking lot at approximately 1:37pm Fresno time, was facing southeast, indicating that Freddie's shadow was pointing toward Las Vegas. Freddie, declared that his shadow pointing toward Las Vegas was a sign that the Falcons will catch Las Vegas in the Pacific Division. Freddie went on to say that "the Falcons still need to take care of business on the ice but he is confident that following today's shadow sighting, the Falcons will make a run at the Wranglers".
The Falcons return to Save Mart Center home ice tonight at 7:30pm for a rematch against the Las Vegas Wranglers. Tonight's game features the Inaugural Fresno Falcons Read at the Rink, a celebration of literacy and a book drive to benefit area reading programs and the Central Valley Book Bank. The first 1500 fans will receive a free Falcons Read at the Rink Long Sleeve T-shirt courtesy of Little Caesars Pizza, Hometown Values Magazine, Alpha Designs of Hanford and the Fresno County Bar Association. All fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used books at tonight's game. All fans who donate books will enter a drawing to win valuable prizes from Hometown Values Magazine. Tickets for tonight's game are on sale at the Save Mart Center and Ticketmaster. For more information call the Falcons at 559-485-PUCK!
