RoadRunners Receive Angel From Norfolk

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have announced that defenseman Brett Angel has been re-assigned to the club from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, and is expected to make his debut Saturday against Idaho.

Angel, 26, collected one goal, one assist, and 55 penalty minutes in 16 games this season with the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The Kingston, Ontario native and third-year professional also amassed 55 penalty minutes in 18 games with Norfolk. Angel has logged a total of 22 games in the AHL after completing a five-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League and a four-year collegiate career at Acadia University.

Selected by the Nashville Predators in Round Three (#72 overall) at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Angel has recorded two goals, nine assists, 11 points, and 462 penalty minutes in 115 career games.

The RoadRunners continue their five-game home-stand at 7:11 p.m. Saturday as they conclude a two-game series with the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads at US Airways Center.
