Former Blade Brine gets call to NHL

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that today former Everblade forward David Brine has been called up to the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers. Brine is eligible to play in tonight's Panthers game at Tampa Bay, and should that happen he will become the 14th player to dress in an Everblades uniform and skate in a game in the NHL.

The 23-year-old began the season with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League where he notched 15 points (7g, 8a) in 46 games. Brine also played with the Amerks over the last half of the 2006-07 season registering eight points (4g, 4a) in 22 games.

As a rookie in '06-'07, Brine made his professional debut with the Everblades and played in a total of 52 games scoring 9 goals and adding 21 assists. The Truro, Nova Scotia native played in his first professional game with the Everblades on October 20, 2006 and scored his first professional point with an assist the next night. Brine registered his first pro goal on October 26, 2006 vs. the Charlotte Checkers.
