Grizzlies Beat Phoenix 5-2

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners 5-2 Friday night at the E-Center. Luciano Aquino (2 goals) and Andy Sertich (2 assists) had multiple-point games for Utah.

Utah took over the game with a strong late first period and early second period. Luciano Aquino scored two goals for Utah and Brendan Cook added a 5-on-3 power-play goal as Utah turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead starting at the 18:31 mark of the first and ending at 5:25 of the second.

In the third, Utah killed four situations on the penalty-kill and added two late insurance goals. D.J. Jelitto (17:01) and Chris Trick (empty-net, 19:39.)

Rob McVicar stopped 26 of 28 shots in the win.

The Grizzlies and RoadRunners return to action Saturday at the E-Center hosting Phoenix at 7:05 p.m.
