Trenton Devils News Release
CINCINNATI, OH (February 2, 2007) - The Trenton Titans could not hold off a third-period flurry by the Cincinnati Cyclones infalling 4-1 in front of 2,769 at the USBank Arena.
The Titans found themselves tied 1-1 heading into the third period and looking for the go-ahead tally. Instead it was Sam Ftorek who put Cincinnati up by one goal at 8:00 of the period when he one-timed Jason Deitsch's centering pass into the back of the net for his second marker of the contest.
The Cyclones put the game away over five minutes later when Torry Gajda and Jean-Michel Daoust scored over a span of thirty-four seconds to make the score 4-1.
Ftorek drew first blood for Cincinnati 4:01 into game when he worked a give-and-go with Cory Urquhart and blasted a slapshot past Gregg Naumenko.
The Titans were able to tie the score heading into the first intermission as they skated on a 5-on-3 advantage. Though Cyclones goalie Cedric Desjardins was able to save Rosario Ruggeri's point shot, he couldn't stop the rebound from Mike Pandolfo, who put in the loose puck at 19:34 for his 31st goal of the season.
Trenton went 1-for-6 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill.
The Titans make the trip to Dayton to battle the Bombers on Saturday, February 3 at 7:00pm. Tune into 91.3FM-WTSR to hear all of the Titans action or listen or watch live at www.trentontitans.com courtesy of via B2 Networks.
