
Bombers spend more time in the community

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL announced today that team members will participate in a pair of community appearances in the Miami Valley the week of February 4. The bombers have scheduled a skate with the players event at Riverscape MetroPark on Sunday, February 4. Bombers players will also visit students at Simon Kenton Elementary School in Springfield, Ohio, on Monday, February 5.
Bombers rookies Brad Farynuk, Petr Pohl, Dmitri Chernykh, Brent Walton and Trevor Hendrikx will participate in the skate session on Sunday at the Riverscape MetroPark located at 111 E. Monument Ave., from 1-3 p.m. There is no fee to meet the players, take pictures or get autographs, however; there is a $3 fee to skate, which includes skates if needed.
Forwards Matt Herneisen and Joe Cullen will be attending Simon Kenton Elementary School on Monday to read to the second and third graders. "We are very excited about the Bombers coming to visit our students," said Principal Nicole Leach. " The fact that they are willing to take time out of their very busy schedule to read and educate children just goes to show how much they care about Dayton and other surrounding communities."
The Bombers return to the Nutter Center tonight, at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Wheeling Nailers. Friday's game is McDonald's Family Night, all kids 12 and under receive a free Silver Level ticket compliments of McDonald's. Season tickets and advertising opportunities are available!
