Chiefs work overtime to beat Royals, 3-2

Reading, PA (February 2, 2007) - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Reading Royals by a score of 3-2 in overtime at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania on Friday.

Reading got on the board first when Tyler Kindle walked down to the top of the slot and beat Gerald Coleman on the glove side with a slapshot.

Johnstown would even the score at 17:49 of the second period, when Stanislav Lascek poked a loose puck past Reading goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak. Reading would take a 2-1 lead just over a minute later, when Malcolm MacMillan picked up the rebound of a shot from Jon Francisco at 18:57 of the second.

Brandon Elliott tied it for Johnstown, scoring his third shorthanded goal of the year at 5:02 of the third period, taking a feed from Grant Jacobsen and blasting a shot past Pietrasiak from the right wing circle.

Coleman stopped three shots in overtime before Dmitri Tarabrin broke down the right wing and fired a sharp-angle shot past Pietrasiak for the overtime winner.
