November 29, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have acquired defenseman Kevin Truelson in a trade with the Fresno Falcons in exchange for forward Sam Ftorek. In a separate transaction, the Gladiators dealt goaltender Randy Hevey to the Pee Dee Pride for financial considerations.

In 14 games this season with the Fresno Falcons, Truelson has tallied 2 goal and 5 assists for 7 points. The defenseman has also recorded one power play goal this season for the Falcons.

Truelson represented the Falcons and the Western Conference, coached by Jeff Pyle, last season in the ECHL All Star Game in Peoria, Illinois. The Raynham, Massachusetts native attended the Boston Bruins training camp prior to the 2003-04 season.

Truelson joins goaltender Simon Lajeunesse on the Gladiators as the netminder was dealt to Gwinnett last week from the Fresno Falcons.

Ftorek goes to the Falcons after appearing in 10 games with the Gladiators and recording 5 points off of 5 assists. The Wolfeboro, NH native appeared in 52 games last season with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League where he recorded 6 goals and 9 assists for 15 points.

Hevey began the season with the Mississippi Sea Wolves where he appeared in three games posting 3.88 goals against average and a .880 save percentage. With Gwinnett for 7 games, Hevey did not appear in game action with the Gladiators.

Truelson should be available for the Gladiators 7:35 p.m. tilt Friday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center against the Greenville Grrrowl.
