Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators had an up and down week, posting a 1-1-1 record, good enough for 3 points, a 7-3-2 season mark and 2nd place in the South Division of the American Conference.
Last Week
On Tuesday night, Las Vegas Wrangler's goaltender Sebastien Centomo stopped 52 IceGators shots and Jason McBain's game winner in overtime capped a late Las Vegas rally, as the Louisiana IceGators saw a 2 goal third period lead disappear en route to a 4-3 overtime loss in the Cajundome. Wes Mason scored twice for the home team and Chris Thompson scored the other IceGators goal.
Friday Night, on a night when the IceGators unveiled their 10th anniversary jerseys, it was the Gwinnett Gladiators who stole the show, as six different players lit the lamp en route to a 7-0 shutout victory. TJ Aceti finished with the shutout stopping all 27 IceGators shots.
Saturday night, the IceGators ended a 3 game winless streak by shutting out the Texas Wildcatters 1-0 in Beaumont, Chris Thompson scored the game's only goal at 2:35 of the 3rd period and Kyle Kettles stopped 32 shots for his first shut out of the season.
The Week Ahead
The IceGators play two more games at the Frozen Swamp before embarking on a 5 games in 8 days road trip through the East Division.
Tuesday, November 30: IceGators vs. Pensacola 7:05pm
This game will mark the third meeting of the season between these two rivals. On November 5, the Gators won in Pensacola 6-4. The next night, Pensacola returned the favor in Louisiana beating the Gators 2-1 in OT, on Corel Neilsen's game winning, power play goal. During the 2nd period intermission we will have an Ex-Coach look-a-like contest for the fan who most resembles any of the past 3 men behind the Gators' bench.
Tomorrow, Zoie Schexnayder would have turned 5 years old. The IceGators are teaming up with the St.Jude Affiliate in Baton Rouge. In memory of Zoie, everyone who brings in a gift to the game for St.Jude's receives a 10th Anniversary Game Puck. The items needed are Children's DVDs, sleeping bags, new blankets, and any new toys!
These items are used at the hospital for the children who are being treated there.
All of these toys will be delivered to St.Jude by the players during the holiday season.

Friday, December 3: IceGators vs. Texas Wildcatters 7:05pm, Boy Scout and Food Bank Night
Fans are encouraged to bring your macaroni and cheese (and other non-perishable food items) and use them as a noise maker during the game, then after the final buzzer, drop them off in the bins provided. All food collected will be donated to local food banks to help make the holidays a little easier for those in need. The two border rivals have played 3 games this season with the road team winning each time. Last Saturday Kyle Kettles stopped 32 shots for the shut out and the Gators 2nd win of the season in Texas.
Saturday, December 4: Gators at Augusta Lynx 6:35pm
For the 2nd time this season the Gators and Lynx face off. Louisiana winning the first match up at home, on November 20, by a score of 5-2. Wes Mason had 2 goals and an assist while rookie Goaltender Nathan Marsters got his 2nd pro win, stopping 25 of 27 shots on net.

Notes
The Houston Aeros on Monday announced the team has recalled goaltender Kyle Kettles. Kettles, under contract to the Minnesota Wild, is expected to join the team in time for a Tuesday morning practice. In eight games played this season for the IceGators, Kettles amassed a record of 4-3-1 with a GAA of 2.98 and a save percentage of .906. The 23 year-old netminder from Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba was coming of his strongest outing of the year, a 32 save shutout over the Texas Wildcatters, last Saturday night in Beaumont.
The IceGators have yet to allow a power play goal on the road this season. Todd Gordon's club has killed 22 consecutive power plays away from home.
With his shut out of Texas, Kyle Kettles moves into 2nd place on the list for most shutouts in team history with 6. Frederic Clouiter has the most shutouts with 10 during his IceGators career. Derek Gustafson is 3rd, with five goose eggs last season.
Winning Percentage
Of the six teams in the South Division only 3 (Louisiana, Pensacola and Gwinnett) have winning percentages above the .500 mark. If fact the top three teams all have the same winning percentage, 66.7%.
The IceGators will practice this week at the Cajundome beginning at 10am each day. The practices on Tuesday and Friday will be shorter "pre-game skates."
Community News
Due to the game Tuesday night, there will be no "Gator Talk" this week.
Project MAMA
For the entire season the Gators are encouraging fans to participate in the Project MAMA.A list of supplies needed by our local troops serving overseas is listed at www.icegators.com. The team will have drop off points at the Cajundome for every home game and the effort will culminate in two Armed Forces Nights, December 19, 2004 and March 20, 2005. On those nights children of our deployed troops will have a special day of IceGators hockey complete with a tour of the locker room and a picture with their favorite player. That picture along with supplies will be sent to loved ones overseas. Any business wanting to participate in project MAMA by donating tickets for these families, can call the IceGators office at (337) 234-4423.
