Last week

CONDORS 3 vs. Victoria 2 (SO); attendance: 8,204 Connor James netted the Condors first goal on Saturday to prompt the launching of Teddy Bear Toss Night and sparked the home team to a third period comeback and shootout win over the Victoria Salmon Kings. The crowd of 8,204 was the third largest in team history and the biggest since January 2000. Brett Lutes also scored as the Condors won their 10th game of the season and improved to 3-0 against Victoria. An amazing 7,149 stuffed animals were collected in the event.

SAN DIEGO 4 vs. Condors 3 (SO) One night after staging a two-goal comeback in the third frame, the Condors surrendered a two-goal lead to the Gulls and suffered the shootout loss on Sunday. Krzysztof Wieckowski, Paul Rosebush and David Kudelka each scored for Bakersfield, who jumped one point ahead of both Idaho and Alaska for the division lead, with games in hand on both teams. The Condors are 3-0-1 against San Diego this season.

This week The Condors host the Fresno Falcons on Thursday for the first ever Businesspersons' Special and Kids' Field Trip Day game at 10:30 a.m. at Centennial Garden, sponsored by Fox 58, KERN News Talk 1410, the Bakersfield Californian and Arrival Communications. If you can't get out of work, join us for lunch! Anyone arriving after 11:30 a.m. can purchase 2-for-1 tickets.

On Friday the Condors head out on a seven-day road trip that starts in Long Beach. They'll play the Ice Dogs for the third time this season that night (7:30 p.m.) and travel to Victoria the following day. Sunday's game at the Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria, British Columbia will start at 1:00 p.m. The Condors will not play in Bakersfield again until December 11th against Greenville.

Where we are The Condors rank first in the West Division with 22 points on the season and own the top winning percentage in the entire ECHL. They have played the second fewest games in the league and enter this week with a 10-1-2 record.

Notes from the Nest· G Randy Petruk and RW Todd Alexander remain on IR and were joined this week by C Mike Hofstrand, who is on 30-day IR with a sports hernia. Hofstrand was second in points and first in +/- when placed on IR.

· The Condors still have the top power play in the league at 26.7%, but are riding a three game goal drought with the man advantage. They have one power play goal in their last 16 opportunities.

· Guy Dupuis leads the league in assists (11) among defensemen and is tied for second in points (12) for blueliners.

· Rookie Luis Tremblay is tied for fifth among ECHL defensemen with 11 points.

· Connor James and Lars-Peder Nagel are tied for 9th among ECHL rookies with 12 points. James is fourth among rookies with a +9.

· The Condors will make ECHL history this weekend when they play in the first regular season ECHL game in Canada on Sunday. They will play three games on Vancouver Island on their upcoming road trip.

· The Condors total of 7,149 stuffed animals at Saturday's Teddy Bear Toss eclipsed the team's old mark of 6,179. In the six years the Condors have held Teddy Bear Tosses, 26,235 teddy bears and assorted stuffed animals have been collected. The United Way of Kern County collects the bears and distributes them to other charities and organizations around the county.
