ECHL Adirondack Thunder

Gameday: Adirondack at Wheeling

October 30, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Adirondack Thunder News Release

SIX UP OUR SLEEVES: The Thunder are looking to make Adirondack hockey history tonight against the Nailers as they look for their sixth straight win to open a season. The 1991-92 and 1995-96 Adirondack Red Wings currently stand as the only teams in Adirondack hockey history with five straight wins out of the games.

APPLE PICKING: With Kent Simpson's recall to the Stockton Heat in the AHL, Ken Appleby is once again the man between the pipes for the Thunder. Appleby is a perfect three-of-three on the season with a 2.32 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE MARC: Louick Marcotte has started off his professional career on a high note with seven points (5-2-7) from five games. The QMJHL alum's five goals leads all first year players and his seven points are tied for second. Marcotte and Ryan Lomberg (3-2-5) make Adirondack the only team in the league with two players in the ECHL's Top 5 in rookie scoring.

IN STOCK: The Thunder have gotten great production from their Stockton Heat send downs this season, including Lomberg, Marcotte, Mitchell Heard (1-4-5), Michael Kirkpatrick (2-2-4) and Mads Eller (0-2-2).

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Tonight's game against Wheeling kicks off a long road trip for the Thunder, as Adirondack plays each of its next six games away from the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Thunder will not return to Glens Falls for a home game until November 18 against the Norfolk Admirals.
