THE STORY COMING IN

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (3-1-0), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, open their second consecutive three-game series tonight with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against the Atlanta Gladiators at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Greenville is on a three-game winning streak after sweeping a trio of games last weekend against division rivals South Carolina and Florida. Jack Combs led the squad with five points (1g, 4a) last week, while Josh Nicholls and Bretton Cameron each scored three times.

In addition, each fan who leaves a $5 donation will receive a four-pound bag of Solid Gold dog food. The Greenville News Family Fun Pack returns for this Sunday's game and all fans are invited to stick around after the contest for a free post-game skate with the entire team. The Swamp Rabbits will also sport their all-new, redesigned New York Rangers style jerseys.

HOME SWEET HOME

The Swamp Rabbits will complete a four-game homestand this weekend and look to build upon their early success at "The Well." Greenville is 2-0-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink to begin the season and has won five straight games at home dating back to April 3, 2015, when the club defeated Atlanta 4-3. The Swamp Rabbits will play five of their first seven games at home and it's the second straight season the squad has started the year 2-0-0 on home ice.

FRIDAY'S MATCHUP VS. ATLANTA

Tonight's contest will mark the first of 15 meetings between the Swamp Rabbits and Gladiators (2-2-1) this season, and the first of eight games in the Upstate. Greenville went 9-2-0 against Atlanta last year (5-2-0 at home) and is 41-24-5 all-time against the Glads. Atlanta will be the Swamp Rabbits most common opponent in 2015-16. Head coach Andy Brandt's club is led in scoring by former Swamp Rabbits' forward Thomas Frazee, who has tallied seven points (1g, 6a) in five games, while captain Derek Nesbitt paces the team with three goals. Atlanta is coming to Greenville after topping South Carolina 5-3 last Sunday in North Charleston. The Glads played Florida in each of their first four games this season.

SATURDAY'S MATCHUP VS. EVANSVILLE

The Swamp Rabbits welcome the Evansville IceMen (0-2-0) to the Upstate on Saturday for the first of two meetings this season; both will take place in Greenville. The Swamp Rabbits went 3-2-0 against Evansville last year (3-0-0 at home) and is 10-4-0 all-time against the IceMen. Al Sims' club is off to a rough start in 2015-16 and the team is currently on a six-game skid dating back to April 3, 2015. Forward Troy Rutkowski leads a sputtering offense with two points (2a), while Joe Zarbo and Tyson Fawcett have scored Evansville's only two goals. The IceMen last played on Saturday, Oct. 24 against Toledo and suffered a 2-1 loss at home.

SUNDAY'S MATCHUP VS. FLORIDA

Sunday's contest will mark the second of 11 meetings between the Swamp Rabbits and Everblades, and the second of seven matchups in the Upstate. Greenville is 1-0-0 against Florida this season after earning a 3-2 come-from-behind victory last Sunday, when Josh Nicholls scored twice and Emerson Clark netted the game-winning goal late in the third period. Last year, Greenville went 1-7-1 against the "Blades (1-3-0 at home), but the club is 33-17-8 all-time against Florida. The Everblades began the 2015-16 campaign with three straight wins, but have dropped each of their last two including a 4-2 setback to South Carolina on Wednesday at home. Winger Matt Marquardt leads the team and is tied for the league lead in scoring with nine points (3g, 6a) entering the weekend.

JACK'D UP

Seventh-year forward Jack Combs leads the Swamp Rabbits in scoring through four games this season (six points) and also boasts a league-best 13-game point streak (9g, 11a) dating back to Mar. 11, 2015. Combs finished sixth in league scoring with 76 points a year ago, despite playing just 47 ECHL games. He has 382 points in 390 professional games. Combs also collected his 200th ECHL assist last Saturday.

MORRISON TAKES GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Fourth-year netminder Adam Morrison was traded to Greenville from Quad City last Friday and made two appearances with the Swamp Rabbits over the weekend, earning a 24-save victory in both Saturday and Sunday's games. Overall, Morrison went 2-0-0 last week with a 1.97 GAA and .923 save percentage en route to CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for the second time in his career. In addition, Morrison is now on a personal nine-game winning streak dating back to Feb. 7, 2015, when he defeated Greenville while playing for South Carolina.

QUICK HITS

The Swamp Rabbits open another three-games-in-three-days series tonight, their second of three in as many weekends and 13 overall this season... Ryan Rashid is one point from his 50th pro point... Bretton Cameron made his 300th pro appearance last Sunday... Greenville is 2-for-6 on the power play at home (33.3%), good for second in the ECHL.
